Frequently Asked Questions

Will you come to my home?
A lot of companies will not go directly into a person's home to pick up or deliver a piano. Green Mountain Piano will go directly into your home.

Should I tip the movers?
We are often asked if our movers should be tipped. Most customers do provide gratuity to the movers if they believe that they did a good job. Tips range from $5-$100 per mover and are very much appreciated, however this is NOT REQUIRED.

How big is your delivery truck?
Our largest interstate truck is about 40' long. We can usually navigate through rural areas and driveways with ease.

Will moving my piano affect the tuning?
Moving your piano typically has little to do with the tuning. If the piano is being moved into different humidity, however, the tuning can be affected. In some cases the piano may go out of tune as your piano adjusts to the humidity. Because of this, we recommend waiting a couple of weeks before having your piano tuned.

Can you store my piano?
Green Mountain Piano does have a storage facility located at our office in Barre, Vermont. In special circumstances, we can store your piano for extended periods of time. Contact our office for rates.

What is Vermont like?
For some reason or other, once people hear that we live in Vermont, this is the first question they ask. Simple answer... it's very nice and we love it!
